Xeomin is an injectable botulinum toxin type A treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, especially in the forehead area. By temporarily freezing the injected muscles, Xeomin helps smooth and prevent wrinkles over time.
Xeomin treatments can last as little as 15 minutes and require little to no downtime. Your provider will numb the area beforehand and use a very small needle to avoid discomfort. Results are visible within three to seven days of treatment and last approximately three months.
Xeomin is most commonly known for reducing wrinkles in the face, however, it is also used as neuromodulator therapy for other things, including upper limb spasticity, cervical dystonia, blepharospasm, and chronic sialorrhea.
Similar to Botox and Dysport, the active ingredient in Xeomin is botulinum toxin type A, which temporarily blocks nerve signals to the affected muscles, causing any superficial wrinkles to smooth and relax over time. Sometimes referred to as, “naked Botox”, Xeomin is unique because it is formulated with no additives.
Results from Xeomin will typically last three months with a full treatment. Results vary from patient to patient, as well as among treatment areas. Your provider will help you determine the appropriate treatment frequency during your consultation.
